Oh boy, we need to improve the docs about Glade :/
Anyways, try taking a look at the API doc:

There's a method there called 'getWidget(java.lang.String name)'... with this method you obtain
any widget avaliable on the XML file you created with Glade (you must pass the widget's name,
which you also specify with the Glade tool).
