Hi

Unfortunately due to high load in my 'real' work I was unable to make any updates on the Java-Comix. However this are fallowing changes I'm planning to implement:
- eye-glass
- improvements in list table (multiple choice for moving entries etc.)
- 'move to' command for a list with comic book files

Also as soon as possible I will update the project web page.

I hope I will have time to implement the planned changes soon.

Hi All!

Finally new version is available. Major change is new distribution - portable version for USB drives easy to use with http://portableapps.com/ (Windows only)

List of changes:
- a new package will be created for creating portable application (http://portableapps.com/) - only manual installation will be available - instructions included - but after few days of testing I love this feature :-)
- playlist can be set to contain relative paths to comic book files, so you will be able to transfer files with list (and use it from portable version)
- splash screen
- small GUI improvements/fixes... read more

Fallowing changes are implemented in incoming version (4.2). The version will be available soon (probably begging of the next week) - I'm still waiting for "professional" splash screen image from my friend and finishing testing.

In next version there will be some fixes for playlist, improvement in opening zip files (to avoid some exceptions which were sometimes coming - to know more check Wiki), and a splash screen at start up (but since I'm not good at graphics it will take some time... - btw: if you are good at it and want to help - just contact me, I will be very happy)

So... enjoy the program and keep checking for new version which should be available sometime this or next week.

The day after 4.1 release I had to create a new one since some critical defects were found. Version 4.1.1 was released.

The version fixed issue which was happening when comic book file which was present on the playlist was renamed or moved. Second defect was that in case that a comic book file was opened as "nested" in directory or other file it was not found after unpacking.

Major changes are new playlist functionality which allows to group files and read them in the order decided by user - very useful feature for collectors.

Additionaly there is implemented improvement in UnRar and 7-Zip executables usage - if possible "list" command is used to get information about the comic book file.

The new version is being tested by our internal testing team (me and my friends) - expected date of the release is Monday, 24/09/2007.

Due to work related issues release of the new version will be done with small delay... sorry folks.

In incoming version (quite soon) there will be:

- New feature will be a play list
- Improvement - temporary files will be unpacked on-the-fly, not at the beginning of opening comic book file, "list" command will be used
- Of course some other small fixes

Second release - many useful improvements are implemented.

This release contains fallowing features/changes:
full screen mode,
multiple files opened (2 by default, can be changed),
easier configuration (program will prompt for required data),
one configuration file (binary),
initial menu removed,
menus names changes

Second release changes are ready and are being intensively tested.

The changes includes:
- full screen available (when one file opened),
- up to 3 files opened the same time,
- easier program configuration (it prompts for needed configuration data - UnRar and 7-Zip executables),
- configuration saved to one file only (binary),
- configuration compatible with previous version (reads old files, delete them, writes new file),
- better memory usage - only scaled images are stored - original size images are read each time they are needed,
- configuration panel fix,

The first release is ready for download. The internal version of the program is 3.0 - so I'm starting with this number also on SF.NET. The internal project name is Comix, but since the name was already taken the SF.NET project name is Java-Comix - in the application it is still Comix.

GC invoking (on or less 2% free, ones a minute, on demand),
UnRar (or compatible) executable configuration,
7-Zip (or combatible) executable configuration,
