I am just to a point where I am testing some of my reports using jasper
reports, and have found that if my text boxes are too small, text
doesn't appear where expected (see attached pdf). Note the out of place
text that was expected to be inside the grey box.
My question is, how do I figure out the best (smallest) size a text box
can be for a particular font.
It appears that a text box size that is 3 pt larger than the font size
works for the most part, but with smaller fonts I end up with the lines
of text being more spread out (too much leading) than I would prefer.
when can I get away with text boxes that are smaller than the font size
Are there any hard and fast rules for sizing text and placing more than
one text element in the same band (vertically)?
