I am trying to put a trademark symbol (or superscript) in the text of
I know they are trouble from prior experience with other reporting
software on other systems.
I am using jasperreports 1.0.2 and rendering as a PDF document.
My preference is to be able to pass the text in as a parameter with the
symbol as part of the string.
I have tried styled text "<style><small><sup>TM</sup></small></style"
(which I wasn't hopeful about because of the limited set of style
I have tried inserting the "™ " string which is supported on my OS
(Mac OS X).
Both of these result in no text at all (I put markers around them and
the markers are next to each other).
I did make sure that I had the textfield isStyledText flag turned on.
Thanks for any pointers, there is no reference to how to deal with this
(or even superscripts) in the Ultimate Guide or any of the

I use the unicode reference \u2122 in a report parameter without problems with
the text box set to Helvetica. With other symbol you sometimes have to switch fonts.
