Im not sure here, if jake2 users really demand it, since they might not have ogg converted videos and would rather focus on the game. it would be different when someone plans to publish a new game/story and level-set. RST.

I performed a test to see just how small I could get the Quake2 game & Jake2 content down to, and was surprised to find that by converting all pcx's to png's and all wav's to ogg's and all cin's to ogv's and finally zip the whole thing up … I could get everything packed into less then 120 MB. That also includes all of the soundtrack converted into mp3's. Now that's everything … but it could be reduced even further. A basic client could be the bare minimal filesystem, just enough to bootstrap the client up to a point to be able to download the rest of the needed game files. Now I am not suggesting that anyone would re-package the quake2 game content and re-distribute it (not that it isn't already being done) … but for custom content (total conversions, map makers, blah, blah) it would allow someone to deploy from a website, and update the rest of the game content …

add (replace .cin?) OGG Theora video cutscenes (textures?)
With the addition of jehora.jar (100% java) to what was added with the CDVolume patch
we can add support for OGG (OGV) Theora video files.
