I am a newbie to Jailer and I am quite impressed with what I see, but I cannot see anywhere to specify the encoding of the generated xml files? They are generated with 'windows-1252' encoding, but can I change the encoding to UTF-8? If so: How?

Thank you anyway for a brilliant product!!

    Best regards
    Kim

    Hi Kim,

Jailer uses the JVM's default encoding, which is the system encoding by default.
You can change it by adding the argument "-Dfile.encoding=UTF8" to line 21 of jailerGUI.bat:

    start javaw -Xmx1024M -cp %CP% -Dfile.encoding=UTF8 net.sf.jailer.ui.ExtractionModelFrame %*

and use jailerGUI.bat instead of Jailer.exe to start the tool.

    HTH,
    Ralf

    Hi Ralf.

Thank you! It seems to do the trick.

Now I just need to find out why my Latin2 characters are not coming out correct, but that might be a problem on the host/DB2 side.

You got me one important step further anyway.

    Kim
