Hello, JAGIServer is in the process of being replaced by a new system, OrderlyCalls. OrderlyCalls contains support for the Manager protocol as well as FastAGI. OrderlyCalls uses a Named Service approach to providing telephony services to your Java applications, and is configured with a user-extensible XML file. In addition to Manager support, OrderlyCalls contains many bug fixes and performance enhancements. OrderlyCalls also offers native support for running inside J2EE Servlet Containers such as Tomcat, so you can easily add telephony functions to your web applications (for the first time in the Open Source world). You can also extend the framework to develop your own services, and run them from inside OrderlyCalls. Future releases of OrderlyCalls will include support for other switches/PBX systems over the ECMA standard CSTA protocol. We're also hoping to develop a CSTA wrapper to allow Asterisk to be used with CSTA-compliant systems and applications. OrderlyCalls also includes a demonstration/example application of our flagship product, OrderlyQ. 50% of all callers hang up after just 45 seconds of waiting on hold (source: Avaya). OrderlyQ works as a supplement to Asterisk queues, and allows your callers to hang up and call back later without losing their place in the queue. This results in satisfied callers and substantial savings. Please see http://www.orderlyq.com for further details about OrderlyQ. OrderlyCalls has a sourceforge project at http://sourceforge.net/projects/OrderlyCalls, but you won't find it there. We expect to release OrderlyCalls later next week, but you can download a 'sneak-peak' release at http://www.orderlyq.com/OrderlyCalls.zip . The release contains documentation on a variety of topics, including migrating your JAGIServer applications to OrderlyCalls. We recommend migrating to OrderlyCalls as soon as possible; there's no need to wait for the formal release. I'd be very grateful if you could send me details of any problems you have with OrderlyCalls, or any inadequacies in the documentation. We're always happy to receive feedback, whether bad or good. I hope you enjoy OrderlyCalls. Many thanks, Matt King, M.A. Oxon (aka Morex) Managing Director, Orderly Software Ltd. |

Hello, Just started using JAGIServer and found it extremely useful - thanks :) I'm not sure if this is possible, but I would like to be able to have asterisk dial two extensions, and join the two together without an incoming call. E.g. someone registeres with my Java application that they want a conference call at a certain time, and specify two people to take part. At the designated time I want Java to call both parties. Can you please tell me if this is possible? I presume that I would need to register the JAGIServer at a different point so it is initialised when * starts rather than when a call comes in?! Any help would be much appreciated. Regards, -Jeff Fern |
