If start-indent and/or end-indent are specified on a
box flow object containing a paragraph, a paragraph
immediately following the box inherits them, and gets
formatted vertically aligned with the paragraph in the box.

At least some other characteristics are not propagated
(eg. font-size).

Normality is only restored by a paragraph object that
will explicitely set start-indent (eg. a section header).

This does not seem to relate to the width of the
enclosed parag, only to the box (ie. if I change the
start/end-indent of the parag within the box, it
doesn't change the width of the following parag, which
keeps the width of the box.
