Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=3957463 By: xavo Hi, I installed Eclipse 3.1 on my computuer (windows 2000). I downloaded Jadclipse 3.1. I unzipped the archive. I put jadclipse_3.1.0.jar in the "plugins" folder. The installation instructions write to configure the path to the Jad executable under Window > Preferences... > Java > JadClipse > Path to Decompiler. But I do not see the JadClipse option under Java. Can anyone tell me whet is wrong ? Bugs item #1554721, was opened at 2006-09-08 14:39 Message generated for change (Comment added) made by karnokd You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=427342&aid=1554721&group_id=40205 Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Christopher Sahnwaldt (chrisahn) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: decompiler is applied even though source code is available Initial Comment: I'm re-submitting this bug (1425832, http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php? func=detail&aid=1425832&group_id=40205&atid=427342 ) because for me it happens all the time. It makes JadClipse (which is otherwise a great tool) unusable. I can reproduce it by these steps: - start Eclipse, go into a project in the Package Explorer - click on the JRE System Library, go into rt.jar (see screen shot in attachment) - make sure that a source location is configured for rt.jar (usually src.zip in your JDK installation) - open java.sql.Array.class (or any class file for which the source location contains a Java file) -> works fine, class editor opens with java code from source location - close that class file - open sun.audio.AudioData.class (or any class file for which the source location does NOT contain a Java file) -> I first get the usual Eclipse Class File Editor (with the overview of fields and methods) -> when I click into that window, I get the decompiled version from JadClipse - open java.sql.Array.class again -> works fine, class editor opens with java code from source location - open any other class file that was *NEVER OPENED BEFORE* in this Eclipse session for which the source location DOES contain a Java file -> I first get the Eclipse Class File Editor (with the overview of fields and methods) -> when I click into that window, I get the decompiled version from JadClipse -> there is NO WAY to get the java code from the source location into the editor It seems that once JadClipse has been used in an Eclipse session, Eclipse does not find the source code in the source attachment anymore. I use Eclipse Version: 3.2.0 Build id: M20060629-1905, JadClipse Version 3.2.2, but it happened with older versions as well. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: David Karnok (karnokd) Date: 2006-10-04 18:52 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1245062 I use Eclipse 3.2.1 and JadClipse 3.2.2 produces this problem, but when replacing it with JadClipse 3.1.0, the available source is honored. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=427342&aid=1554721&group_id=40205 |

My current Eclipse Version is: 3.2.0 Build id: M20060628-1325 I've tried to copy on plugins directory 3.1.0 and 3.2.2 but it dosen't work at all. Vi...@el... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Christian (greenechri) Date: 2006-09-18 22:11 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1601067 If you are running Eclipse from a JRE, instead of a JDK, you can get this problem. Be sure to set launch Eclipse with a VM from a JDK. See http://help.eclipse.org/help31/index.jsp?topic=/org.eclipse.platform.doc.user/tasks/running_eclipse.htm For example, I edit the shortcut on my desktop and set the Target as <code>D:\eclipse\eclipse.exe -vm D:\java\Sun\jdk1.5.0_08\bin\javaw.exe</code>. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2006-09-18 19:58 Message: Logged In: NO I see the same issue on build M20060629-1905. What is odd, is that if you run/debug an Eclipse runtime from within Eclipse, the spawned Eclipse does have the JadClipse preference options, although a NoSuchMethodError occurs upon opening .class files. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=427342&aid=1558502&group_id=40205 |

Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=3922557 By: simon_sssays I have exactly the same problem. Although I have tried jadclipse_310.jar. I also have WinXP Professional with Eclipse 3.1.0. I installed JadClipse according to the instructions. I see JAD icon and menu entry in my Eclipse and when I click on .class file, it is displayed in JadClipse Class Viewer but it shows only the same info as the built-in class viewer. Error log displays exactly the same stack trace as above. And JAD v1.5.8 works just fine (tried from command line). Anyone has a clue what may cause the problem? ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: no new features when adding jad plugin Initial Comment: Hello, I've installed jadClipse 3.2.0 on my windows platform but it doesn't work. when I open Preferences>Java there is no JadClipse menu. My current Eclipse Version is: 3.2.0 Build id: M20060628-1325 I've tried to copy on plugins directory 3.1.0 and 3.2.2 but it dosen't work at all. Vi...@el... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Christian (greenechri) Date: 2006-09-18 17:11 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1601067 If you are running Eclipse from a JRE, instead of a JDK, you can get this problem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2006-09-18 14:58 Message: Logged In: NO I see the same issue on build M20060629-1905.

---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=427342&aid=1554721&group_id=40205 |

Thanks for your efforts in coding this. Although everything works fine on Eclipse 3.2M4 there is just one problem. I use jdk 5 and the source is available and set against the jdk jar files ( as you would normally set it up in Eclipse) but this plugin keeps decompiling jdk files ? Is this a know bug ? Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=3889198 By: tom_1st Hi, it would be cool if one could install JadClipse from within Eclipse. Dropping a jar file is easy, although it seems a bit archaic. Furthermore eclipse could be used to automatically check for updates ... greetings, ToM ______________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this forum. Category: Eclipse build patches Group: None Status: Closed Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Olaf Siefart (osiefart) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: patch for eclipse 3.1M6 based on jadclipse_b208 Initial Comment: Problem: JadClipse does not work with Eclipse 3.1M6 Solution: I took the patch-build jadclipse_b208.zip and fixed the class JadclipseBreakpointRulerActionDelegate with the patch from Alain Pannetier (seen in the jadclipse-plugin comments) and added some new plugin requirements in the plugin.xml. Source is included in the file. Seems to work for me, but no warranty. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2006-08-02 23:04 Message: Logged In: NO ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Johann Gyger (jgyger) Date: 2005-09-27 13:02 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=7927 Obsolete with new release of JadClipse. Thanks for your work! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2005-08-01 11:52 Message: Logged In: NO Regarding Johan's out of bounds exception below, I get the same error (only when align for debugging turned on as he says). I'm using Eclipse 3.1 final, jadclipse 2.0.9 patch, and jad1.5.8e under linux. Has anyone found a resolution for this issue. Thanks for patching jadclipse by the way! The exception occurs only when I check the option "Align code for debugging" under Java/JadClipse/Debug. Is it so that I'm the only one getting this exception when the option is checked? Can you reproduce the problem? BTW: I'm running 3.1M6 w/ jad 1.5.8e and I have removed the extension, run eclipse w/ -clean, reinstalled the extension and started eclipse with -clean. Regards, Marc ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Olaf Siefart (osiefart) Date: 2005-04-26 09:08 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1265534 Hi Johan, Did you really use eclipse 3.1M6 ? I don't know, what happens, if you try the patch with an earlier version of eclipse. Wich version of jad is used? The patch works with version 1.5.8e for me. eclipse -clean is also a possibility, if you are using an old workspace. Hope this helps.
