Hi, I have no clue. Maybe someone on our forum (http://discourse.jabref.org) has? Just to be sure, you also have javafx support running on your slack distribution? For instance, in Fedora, one has to install "openjfx". See http://help.jabref.org/en/Installation#fedora-and-openjdk If such a thing is too complicated, we recommend installing the Oracle JRE.
