Are you using the "file" field rather than the "pdf" field? If so,
does it make a difference if you only put in the dot "." instead of
"./"?

What is the exact link text for the file you are trying to open? If it
is in the same directory as the bib file, the link should be the file
name only, not starting with a slash or drive letter or anything like
that.
