Hello all, I've been searching for a way to watch a folder with jabref for new PDFs. I want a folder with pds to be in sync with the entries in a BIBTEX file. I have folder on a portable drive in which I put the pdfs of articles. I use jabref to manage a bibtex file that contains the bibliographic details of these files (and only these files) and links to each and every file in this folder. I want to avoid these 3 situations: -Files that have no entry in the bibtex (i.e. no entry with a file-field equal to the file name). -Entries without a file linked to them. -Files that are linked twice or more in the bibtex file. This I now do by running a python script I wrote myself. This script reads the bibtex file and the checks it against the content of the folder. If one of the above situations arises, it lists the problems. Again and again JABREF has turned out more powerful than I thought. Therefore I wanted to ask whether somebody knows a combination of settings that might achieve this goal without resorting to a custom script. One solution would be this: I'm wondering for example, whether it would be possible for JABREF always to write the meta data (bibtex-entry) to the PDF file when adding an entry. When starting, JABREF could read all the meta data from the files in a folder. In this way, the folder and the JABREF listing would be always in sync since the data is stored in the files.
