I would suggest to add a button "today" to the field "urldate" to speed-up creating @Online entries. The date should be written as yyyy-mm-dd in order to support tools such as biblatex (other than the date-format that you use for the timestamp of an entry, where such a entry-generate is already implemented).

A more basic requirement is that the urldate field is encoded into the editing GUI. JabRefVer3.0 only has it by default under the "Optional Fields" tab for the ONLINE entry type. The BibLaTeX document states it is an option for all types, and users will need it for literature repository puproses even if it is not required in citations. I have added it in the "General" tab under URL. It could be cleverly set to pop-up when a URL is entered as per @fdar original request. PLEASE MAKE IT DEFAULT WHENEVER A URL IS ENTERED, not just for type "Online".
