Some publishers (e.g. AIP) include 'http://dx.doi.org/' in doi field of bib-file.
It would be nice if JabRef could strip that automatically and/or checks the consistency of the doi name syntax (should start with '10.xxxx/').
Do you mean File / "Import into current database"? What if I paste a BibTeX-entry? I wouldn't like it if JabRef changes the BibTeX entry automatically.
I like the solution more to assign a keyboard shortcut for CleanUp Entries as wished by Feature Request #850. I hope, that we'll have time to implement that in the near future.
If you would like to refer to this comment somewhere else in this project, copy and paste the following link:
Does the "Cleanup entry" / 7th option: "Move DOIs from note and URL field to DOI field and remove http prefix" suit your needs?
Works. Would be nice to do this at import instead by a 'hidden' feature.

Yes I mean using import (bib or other), where the information is processed anyway. Pasting should not mess with the content.
Shortcut for cleanup would be nice.
Running a cleanup operation directly after import is planed, see https://github.com/JabRef/jabref/issues/1283.
