The new serialization (order) of BibTeX entries on save creates problems for .bib-files under version control, so it would be nice to have an option to use the old (pre-2.10) serialization. A natural place is a tick-box under "File/Field saving options".
(An alternative could be to have a tick-box that disables all the new field-saving options and reverts to those from 2.9, should this be easier to implement.)
A more detailed explanation why I need this: I am responsible for several .bib files that are shared by two groups of people, using SVN repositories.
I cannot really control the version of JabRef people use, so the danger is that some will have <=2.9 and some >=2.10 - and each time they post a commit, all the entries would be marked as changed, beating the whole purpose of using version control in the first place.
Thanks
Michal

The new versions of JabRef should produce a more stable serialization (for example only changed entries are reformated). If you still have problems, you can post them at github https://github.com/JabRef/jabref/issues
