Normally when dealing with OneDrive, most native Windows programs are able to open an 'online only' file, in which case that file will be downloaded and opened on demand. The consequence is the status of that file flips over to 'available offline' and the content of that file is always available locally.
Jabref appears to be unable to open such 'online only' files unless they have been first switched over to 'available offline' status at least one time. If that switch has occurred, it is possible to flip the file back to 'online only' status (in which case it must be downloaded anew, unless I am mistaken) but then get the correct opening behavior afterwards. This happens regardless of file type, e.g. bib database or PDF files.
Is this a Java defect, or is it something that can be remedied inside Jabref or possibly by a plugin? Thanks for your time!

Java 8 update 25
Windows 8.1, 32-bit
I don't use OneDrive. I googled a bit, but only found how to make files offline (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/onedrive-online-available-offline). OneDrive seems to be broken on my windows: The context menu is missing on my Windows 8.1.
Googling also didn't find issues with Java8.
Could you test with an updated Java8? I currently don't know how to track down the issue.
