#1210 10b3 Acrobat started from Jabref fails to send mail, Windows 7

When a PDF file is launched by clicking on its item, Acrobat XI Pro is launced on Windows 7. The PDF-File is shown. When trying to send the file via the e-mail icon, Acrobat XI fails to communicate with Thunderbird.
On the other Hand if Acrobat XI is launched from the Explorer sending mail via Thunderbird works. Could it be that the environment passed to Acrobat is incomplete?

Yet, when changing the file association to Sumatra-PDF-Viewer and launching it from Jabref, sending mail works.

I am not sure whether this is a Jabref Issue with the environment being passed or an Acrobat issue
