We really got issues when launching with 64bit Java. Due to other issues with a 64bit JRE, I'm running a 32bit JRE here.

Please find attached a launcher that launches JabRef-2.9b2.jar. Could you try if that works on your system?

On Win8, Java 7, 64bit, JabRef 2.9b2 starts with the bundled launcher without issues.

    java version "1.7.0_09"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_09-b05)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.5-b02, mixed mode)

Bug 1103 is duplicate of this bug report. The new test launcher for JabRef 2.9 is provided there.
