Hi, I am a user of JTrac and I seem to like it :), but I am stuck with a workflow situation and am wondering how to go about solving it. I have added the work-flow in he attachment. Now when designing this work-flow what I had in mind is that, when state is changed from Open to Closed, the Fix Version have to be mentioned. But what I can see in practice is - Once the state is in closed if then I want to change the state it asks me to mention the Fix Version; its exactly the opposite to what I wanted :(. Can some please suggest me how I can achieve what I want achieve? Best regards, -- Imran M Yousuf Entrepreneur & Software Engineer Smart IT Engineering Dhaka, Bangladesh Email: im...@sm... Saurabh, I recommend you use the latest interim version [24-Nov-2008], details here: http://jtrac.info/doc/html/interim-builds.html I can confirm that this is stable and there are no DB schema changes from 2.1.0, actually we should be releasing 2.2.0 final right away with almost the same code base. This version does fix some memory issues in the indexing when the number of records goes beyond a point. I think you have been using JTrac for a while too :) Thanks, Peter. Hi, A new development build is available. The two main issues fixed in this build are - show / hide columns on search results was not working - serious bug where editing profile of self or any other user would fail For those new to this list, the 2.2.0 series version has: - bookmarkable search results - export to XML - import from Excel - remote XML API - Space level ADMIN role You can find more details here: http://www.nabble.com/New-development-build-2.2.0-dev4-available-td18895697.html As always, details on how to get this build are here: http://jtrac.info/doc/html/interim-builds.html Thanks, Peter. |

Hi, I seem to have run into a problem with the current dev build from subversion. When I go to search the current space for items, and attempt to remove fields from display, they are still displayed in the search results. This can be observed here: http://www.khalidine.com/jtrac/app/item/list/?s=4&status=in_1 1. click the search icon 2.uncheck all fields except "id" and "summary" 3. press "search" You'll be returned to the search page, and again all fields will be showing. This happens for both custom and standard fields. Disregard the version number "*2.1.0-Khalidine*" on the page, I mislabeled it when running the build. The en tire source tree was pulled from SVN just a few hours ago. The only alteration to this build over the current SVN version is the addition of these changes - I don't see anything in there that can cause this issue (changes are in completely different sections of the app): https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1777409&group_id=162983&atid=825943 Any thoughts or suggestions? Hopefully I'm just missing something obvious? Thanks Marc |

Hi, Been trying to enhance Jtrac myself. Although this is my first time to use Spring. But I get to change some. What's been bugging my head for 36 hours now is that of adding a new table in the Jtrac database. By the way, I am using MySql. i tried to create one, adding E.G. AppOnwer.java in the domain directory. update hibernateJtracDao. Added some lines in Jtrac.java, jtracDao and JtracImpl and jtrac.hbm.xml. But when i run the ant jetty-start, I am getting a null pointer on the id which is a variable in my AppUser. Well, what I am trying to do is redeploy Jtrac without any tables from its database. I can't seem to underatanf why does it need a value instantly. Anyway, what I'm trying to accomplish is I will be using one of the default drop down list. Then reference its id to this new database name AppOwner. Then using those default freetext fields, I will disable edit properties and they will be filled out by the values in the AppOwner database. Like each application has there own Application Owner populated automatically. Has anyone have an insight about this? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Need it asap. thanks guy jay -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/adding-new-tables-and-creating-relationships-tp19080653p19080653.html Sent from the j-trac-users mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

Where does one go in sourceforge to obtain this version to try? Regards, Laurence Gray Lead System Integration Test Analyst Iowa Foundation for Medical Care (515) 457-3749 >>> "Peter Thomas" <ptr...@gm...> 8/8/2008 12:10 PM >>> Hi, Lots of new stuff! Some of these were available in the previous 2.2.0 series builds as well. Import from Excel Finally! A minor limitation for now is that you have to create and set up the target Space before-hand. But the UI allows you to clean the data and map drop-downs accurately. Someone was asking about migrating from BugZilla recently on this list so it would be great to get feedback on this front. Try preferably in a test-environment as this is still "beta" - but please do help test this ! Bookmarkable search results Want to "save" a search? Just bookmark the URL in the browser address bar just after you hit the "search" button XML export Link to export search results appears next to the "Excel export" link XML output dumps *all* information about items Should address any kind of extreme reporting needs Remote API Uses HTTP basic authentication (so please use SSL if using over the internet to be safe) Read-only at the moment Returns XML data Should open up possibilities like automated clients that create create daily reports etc. http://<myserver>/jtrac/api?method=item.get&refId=MYSPACE-123 gets a single item as XML where item-id is MYSPACE-123 http://myserver/jtrac/api?method=item.search.get this is the "base" URL to search for items the above URL "as-is" dumps all items for all spaces allocated to authenticated user but you can append the very same bookmarkable search parameters (discussed above) to filter results Space-level Admin role introduced Reserved name "ROLE_ADMIN" can edit space can edit items for space can add users can add / remove users to space cannot delete users Now it is also possible for a user to have multiple (workflow) roles per space Duplicate item-id problem should be solved There have been a few isolated reports of duplicate item-id-s in the wild. A lot of work has gone into tracking this down and we are confident that this version fixes this (very rare) problem once and for all. Please help test this so that we can iron out bugs and release the official version sooner! Thanks, Peter. Hi Jay, JTrac currently only supports authentication with LDAP / AD, you can refer the online install guide for the details: http://jtrac.info/doc/html/features.html#features-ldap Much of the functionality of JTrac depends on the mapping of users to spaces (projects). So I don't think it is feasible that we can make an LDAP query at the time of creating an item, i.e. ItemFormPage. But what should be possible is - enhancing the existing user admin UI to pick users from LDAP - allowing users to plug in a piece of authorization code that automatically uses LDAP info to map a user to a space - although the mapping of users to spaces has to exist within the local database of JTrac, we can add a check at the time of login if there is any update to the users LDAP profile and do the necessary changes to the local database Patches welcome :) You will find a developer guide on the website. I can help wherever I can. Thanks, Peter. On Tue, Aug 12, 2008 at 7:07 PM, jayboado <jay...@su...>wrote: > > hi everyone, > > I just installed J-trac a few minutes ago. hi everyone, I just installed J-trac a few minutes ago. And I was at the midst of playing around with it. I was able to change my database to MySql. My questions are: 1. Is is possible to alter the ItemFormPage.html? 2. Since we are taking incidents or logging tickets from our applications users, is it possible to integrate our companies active directory. Like, I am planning to add a field in the ItemFormPage, then there will be a UserField there, and everytime, we enter a user, there is a link that will open our active directory and select the name. thanks for your help in advance jay -- View this message in context: http://www.nabble.com/enhance-form-and-active-directory-tp18944418p18944418.html Sent from the j-trac-users mailing list archive at Nabble.com. |

I am on vacation until Tuesday, August 12. If you require immediate assistance, please contact Patrick Wong at x5891. Thank you. >>> j-trac-users 08/08/08 13:10 >>> Hi, Lots of new stuff! A lot of work has gone into tracking this down and we are confident that this version fixes this (very rare) problem once and for all. Please help test this so that we can iron out bugs and release the official version sooner! Thanks, Peter. Hi, First, apologies for the totally unexpected increase in spam lately. Moderation has been enabled on this mailing list - so from now on messages from new members would need approval - but only the first time. A new development build has been uploaded. The main new feature is XML export of search results. The XML dump includes *everything* including history information, so this should open up possibilities for those with extreme reporting requirements. You will find the link next to the "Excel export" link. The XML can also be obtained through the remote-api (work in progress). It requires HTTP BASIC authentication. Using safer authentication is a to-do. The URL will be like this: http://localhost:8080/jtrac/api?method=search.get The above URL will actually dump *all* spaces for the authenticating user. But you have full control over the search results by using query-string parameters (introduced in the last build). To get an idea, run a search using the normal user-interface and look at the address-bar of your browser after clicking the search-button. Experiment with different filter conditions and you can use the same parameters in the "api" URL given above. Instructions on how to access interim builds can be found here: http://jtrac.info/doc/html/interim-builds.html Thanks, Peter. |

Nowadays JTrac has a sufficient small database scheme. I see it will be more elegant solution to have a list of SQL scripts for such a migration. But in future may be some XML API will be presented, according to paragraph 5.14 of RoadMap. 21.07.08, 17:07, "Max Schwaab" <ma...@da...>: > Hey > there, > > I > found Jtrac while searching for a good bugtracking tool. Hey there, I found Jtrac while searching for a good bugtracking tool. But I need an important feature: Import data from other bugtracking software (in this case: Bugzilla). We use the Bugzilla software atm and want to switch our system. But we need our issues. My question: When is this feature available for JTrac? In the near future?
