#5 Closed Caption Support
Hello,
I need closed caption support for family members and
according to Myth, ivtv is the item that must be
updated to make this happen. I just got off the phone
with Hauppague and they tell me that their 250/250
cards should all be fine with it--in fact they know
that their new 250 MCE card is passing that data to MS
new media center OS.
Their other cards with the 878 chips pass CC data as
well, but their capture is much poorer quality.
Any help in this area is much appreciated.

VBI support (which is what you need for CC to work) is being
worked on at the moment. If you look at / search the mailing
list archives, you will find posts about it. Search for VBI.
I believe the developer working on this is hoping to have a
working patch for this within the next week or so. No
guarantees, though:)
