NTSC. I'm not using matroxfb, but I'm using directfb. I use mplayer -vo dfbmga:fieldparity=top:buffermode=triple -fs -cache 8192 -autosync 30 $FILENAME The most influential factor is the fieldparity option. If that's wrong, the video looks aweful because the interlaced frames get drawn in the wrong order. The autosync 30 seems to have a lot to do with how good the video looks.
