work on drawserv from 2/24/04 to 3/16/04

This is a single e-mail with 34 patch attachments.  This represent 34 
individual commits to the cvs server from 2/24/04 thru 3/16/04.  For 
the most part it represents the evolution of drawserv toward a 
peer-to-peer drawing chat program.  It does include one fix for the 
default -display argument introduced in ivtools-1.1.3.  Now this should 
work on Unix boxes that disallow localhost, and thru ssh X forwarding.
