Standard Verilog allows attribute be in a verilog file. Syntax is (* attribute here *) .
However iverilog does not tolerate it.
Can someone please add it? Many thanks.

attached a small file of a memory model with one attribute line on line 23. By executing "iverilog try.v" will reproduce the error message.

The attached code compiles without error using the latest Icarus development code and V0.9 code from git. I'm going to close this report and mark it as out of date.

If my reading of the git logs is correct this was not fixed after the 0.9.5 release so I must assume you are using an older version of Icarus. If this is the case please upgrade to the latest stable version (0.9.5) before reporting any more bugs.

Note that this bug is present in the current (20120501) development snapshot (see bug ID 3549379). If you need features that are not available in the current stable release (V0.9.5), please use the latest development code from git, where this bug has been fixed.

I just verified this does compile without an error using the 0.9.5 release. I forgot to initially check the development snapshot and in private email the user confirmed that is what is being used. Until another snapshot for development is released the latest code from git will need to be used or the 0.9.5 release if that is acceptable.
