Some players have reported that character stats and
state descriptions are not shown correctly. The text is
scrambled and odd extra numbers are shown here and
there, or something like that. The dev team has been
unable to detect any traces of the problem, even
though one user provided us a savefile in which the bug
supposedly occured for him. All reports of this have
been posted by unix-users. It is therefore probable that
the issue is system- or hardware-specific.
It seems this does not appear always, one person got
this after entering GC, if I understood right.
As the developer responsible for fonts I believe I caused
this bug by adding some extra optimizations to the font
code in v0.50. Sorry. I'll check the relevant parts of the
source throughoutly, but in case I can't find the reason,
IvanDev would appreciate if someone could provide a
screenshot or answer to any of the following questions:
1. on which platforms does the bug occur?
2. do you play in window or fullscreen mode?
3. is the message panel in the bottom of the screen
shown correctly?
4. did earlier versions work correctly for you?

Two more questions:
5. which gcc version are you using?
6. which compiler flags have you enabled?

1. Linux/AMD64. Debian GLibc 2.3.2-21,
libSDL-1.2.7+1.2.8cvs20041007-4.1.
2. Unfortunately I can't play due to this bug, but it
happens in both modes.
3. Nope, even the GNU copyright stuff is whacked.
4. Never had a chance to try them.
5. 3.3.5-3, 3.4.3-13. Tried both.
6. -g -O0 and -g -O2. Tried -O0 on both compilers and -O2 on
gcc-3.4.
This happens as soon as I start the game. I just finished
porting the game to 64-bit platfroms, and now I'm looking
forward to being able to check out this very promising game.
