Initialisation

Anonymous

Judging from the USB traffic of the Windows utility, it seems that the initialisation consist of two parts:

First, there are some control messages, which do reveal some additional information as clear text. However, the most “bits” and their function are unknown. See “part 1”.

Secondly, some bulk messages are exchanged, see “part 2”. itrackutil currently only uses those (as does Hartmut's utility), which seems to work fine.

Part 1 - Preamble with USB ctrl messages

  • Send Ctrl-In: 0xa1, 0x21, 0, 0, 7

Part 2 - Main initialisation using bulk messages

The expected response to the "W'P Camera Detect\0" command is “WP GPS+BT\0”.

Out: "W'P Camera Detect\0"
Wait for response
If timeout:
   out: 'WP AP-Exit\0'
  Try again

Response: 'WP GPS+BT\0'
