When copying data from Excel, integers with thousands contain a space (eg 10 500). During import, there is no warning, but only the first part of the number (here 10) is saved in the database.
As for date format, numbers could have localized formats too.
Example: 100,000.50 (US) = 100 000,50 (FR)
This requires implementation of number formatting such as date formatting in the csv import UI
