For multiple sclerosis lesion segmentation, we need to look over different contrasts (T1W, T2W, FLAIR, etc) and over different time points (scan at Month 1, Moth 2, etc). There is image overlay feature in the ITK-SNAP 2.0.0 version. However the functionality is limited. In our typical longitudinal imaging studies, we will have 10-20 scans for each patient at different time-points and in each scan we need to look at 6-7 different images to identify lesions.
It would be nice to have a good overlay management window in itk-snap to allow users to easily navigate between the different images with their own distinctive names and have a way to save/load all the images/overlays in the workspace to a single network/script file.
I agree, this is something worth improving. At least the ability to give names to overlays.
