Keyboard shortcuts for specific labels

I am so excited to find ITK-SNAP for my research! One feature that would speed things up: ability to set (or have pre-set) keyboard shortcuts for labels. I prefer to have my eyes stay on the images, but with various labels I end up looking at the label drop-down to verify which label I've selected while scrolling through them with < and > keys (which are still very helpful, by the way). For example, I could use "a" for label 1, "b" for label 2, etc. I understand that simple sounding things may not be so simple in the coding, but this feature would be very much appreciated!
As a follow-up to this, having a shortcut to change the active drawing label to "Clear Label" would be nice, too. I like that the < and > keys stop at Label 1 (if it's a bug, please keep it), but having a shortcut to quickly erase (i.e., use clear label) over any other label would be great. Perhaps a Ctrl + right click (a "super" erase to overwrite any with the clear label)?
Thanks!
