Thanks for this wonderful software.
I have a few comments for further improvement:

  1. for manual segmentation, it would be great to add
edge tracking features to the polygon tools.

  2. consider using the manual segmentations as
starting points for the level set segmentations
    rather than bubbles.

  3. incorporate interpolation for the views so that
images look smoother, particularly for MRI with
    anisotropic resolution.

Thanks,
Jeff

Regarding feature #2 - it's possible to use manual segmentation as a starting point for automatic segmentation

Regarding feature #3 - the surgeon I'm working with really liked ITK-Snap at first, just because it DOES NOT do interpolation and shows nicely the slice thickness.
In fact interpolation is a guess, and apparently he doesn't like guesses (unless well documented). Furthermore a good interpolator (eg. sinc with welch kernel) it's really slow, so I guess you are suggesting a linear interpolation. He hates that ;-)
