#2 Nov5 pre-release: user-friendly handling of special chars

People might find it hard to type special characters (such as the ligatured oe, or any accentuated vowel). It would be nice if the search could use some regular expression to make it easier for users by ignoring accents and expanding ligatures.

See two examples of this issue in the attached screenshot.

This is admittedly a feature request, but this might improve largely user experience (especially for English users who do not have any accents on the keybords and might not know at all how to insert them).
