GLTerm has an excellent feature where by holding down the Option key while clicking and dragging you can select a rectangular region of the scrollback buffer and then copy it to the clipboard. This is really handy if you are running programs that output columns of data and want to grab just one of them. Could this be added to iTerm?

Yes, I think we could do that.

However, this will have to wait until we implement our
    custom view.

I'd love to see this feature. I must try to do this once or twice a week when I forget which program I'm in.

Took a bit of digging to find this item, because I was searching on 'block select', which brings up a bunch of tickets which appear open from the main interface but are actually closed due to being dupes (of this item, presumably).

Anyway, I'd love to see this block select/rectangular copy feature in iTerm.

I'd absolutely love this feature too. It's a must when I'm using tools such as dvtm.
