Hi,
I am a long time user of xterm, aterm, gnome-terminal, putty and all of these handle selection of horizontal whitespace the same way. However iTerm does it differently and IMHO does it in a broken fashion.
Action: Double click on some whitespace in between two words
Expected result: The entire whitespace is highlighted and copied to the clipboad
Actual result in iTerm: nothing
Action: Double click on some whitespace at the right side of the terminal window
Expected result: The entire whitespace is highlighted and a newline is copied to the clipboard
Actual result in iTerm: nothing
Action: Triple click a line
Expected result: The entire line is highlighted and copied to the clipboard including trailing newline
Actual result in iTerm: The newline is not copied to the clipboard
Action: Double click a word and then drag left and right to extend the selection on word boundaries
Expected result: Contiguous blocks of horizontal whitespace are treated as words and the selection extends across the entire block at once
Actual result in iTerm: The selection is only extended one space at a time as if you were still in character selection mode instead of word selection mode
Note: Terminal.app also gets all of the above right although it has its own problems that make it not very usable for me
Macbook running snow leopard
iTerm 0.10
