Looks like that missing test project has been uploaded to Sourceforge thanks to Duncan at MIT. Thanks! - Jose B. Hi sir, In this mail, (1) I will mention about how I solved the problem. After solving the problem I successfully finished installing the SPHERES Simulation(about the problem please read the previous mails which can be found below). (2) But this time, I have another problem while using the SPHERES Simulation and I will ask about that. (1) The reason I was getting the error "Error: could find generator in Cache" after typing "cfg = configureSim();BuildSimulation(cfg);" is CMake had used "Visual Studio 10" instead of "Visual Studio 10 Win64" as generator while trying to build the source code from directory "C:/spheres/trunk/MatlabSim/CSPHERESCore/SimVerification" to directory "C:/spheres/trunk/MatlabSim/CSPHERESCore/SimVerification/build". Therefore the "build" file was empty and I was getting that error. After changing generator from "Visual Studio 10" to "Visual Studio 10 Win64" and configuring again, required files were generated in "build" file. After that I successfully finished installing the SPHERES Simulation. Here, I am writing step by step how I solved the problem. (i) From start menu I clicked on CMake (cmake-gui) (ii) On that gui, I clicked on the "Browse Source" button and chose "C:/spheres/trunk/MatlabSim/CSPHERESCore/SimVerification" (iii) Then I clicked on the "Browse Build" button and chose "C:/spheres/trunk/MatlabSim/CSPHERESCore/SimVerification/build" (iv) After that, I arranged generator as "Visual Studio 10 Win64" instead of "Visual Studio 10" (v) Finally I pressed the button "Configure". Then I went back to Matlab and followed the remaining steps and installed the SPHERES Simulation. Actually sir, your advice in previous mail which was "I would recommend utilizing CMake by itself with a very simple example to generate a Visual Studio project and debug it from there. Let us know what you find." helped me to solve the problem. Thank you! (2) After installing the SPHERES Simulation with the help of the file "SPHERES Simulation Installation Manual", I passed to the file "SPHERES Simulation User Manual" to read the instructions there and use the SPHERES Simulation. But beginning from the very first instruction on page 2, I realized that the file "TestProjects" that should be in "SPHERES_Simulation_R3.zip\SPHERES_Simulation_R3" is missing in the current version of the zip file that is available on http://sourceforge.net/projects/issspheres/. I especially need the document named "Your_First_Test_Project" in "TestProjects" to understand how to implement a controller. Because on page 4, the manual says "You will have to run through this document, read the comments, and uncomment lines of code as necessary to make the controller actually work." Hi Duncan, Has anyone put thought into eliminating the simulator dependance on the Embedded Coder Toolbox? I should think it’s a matter of changing the model target from ERT to GRT. Is there an important reason it’s currently set to ERT? Also, you’ve mentioned before that you guy’s may be doing some simulator improvements over the summer. Has that yielded good results? Can we look forward to updates being posted to the source forge repo? Thanks, - Jose Benavides |

Hello, May I recommend to anybody interested, please subscribe to the associated sourceforge mailing list to help us all grow the SPHERES simulation community world wide. You can subscribe at the following link https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/issspheres-simulator For those running into issues, I’d also like to recommend taking a quick look at some recent documentation posted here: https://sourceforge.net/p/issspheres/code/HEAD/tree/trunk/Simulation/SimDocumentation/NASA_Ames/SPHERES_PROJECT_English.docx Bekir, You are correct, CMake is not recognizing your installed instance of Visual Studio. A generator is part of CMake that outputs a build system. On UNIX, it would be a set of make files. On Windows it is a Visual Studio project. For some reason, CMake doesn’t know what build system to output. There is a CMake documentation page about generators: http://www.cmake.org/cmake/help/v2.8.8/cmake.html#section_Generators I would recommend utilizing CMake by itself with a very simple example to generate a Visual Studio project and debug it from there. Let us know what you find. Thanks! - Jose Benavides On Oct 2, 2014, at 10:52 AM, Alvar Saenz-Otero <al...@mi...<mailto:al...@mi...>> wrote: Jose, MIT Team, Not sure who should figure this out... I am trying to run SPHERES Simulation on my computer. For this, first I downloaded the zip file from http://sourceforge.net/projects/issspheres/. After that, according to the pdf file named "SPHERES Simulation Installation Manual" in "SPHERES_Simulation_R3.zip\SPHERES_Simulation_R3\SimDocumentation" I tried to set up the simulation. Up to page 14 of this manual everything seems fine. On page 14, it says "type rebuildAll". And when I type "rebuildAll" everything is still fine. The next command is, as stated on the same page, writing "cfg = configureSim();BuildSimulation(cfg);". But when I type this I face with "Error: could find generator in Cache" on matlab command window. I believe it is something related to cmake and visual studio 2010 but I could not figure it out. Please help. Kind regards, Bekir Emre Körpe BilMech Student Department of Mechanical Engineering Bilkent University 06800 Ankara, Turkey www.syslab.bilkent.edu.tr<http://www.syslab.bilkent.edu.tr/> |
