In April 2022, the ISFDB software was tested under Python 2.7.18. No issues were found, so it should be safe to upgrade Python to 2.7.18 on the live server.

Note that development servers running the ISFDB software shouldn't be upgraded to 2.7 until after the completion of the live server upgrade.
