At this time Advanced Searches ignore leading and trailing spaces, but regular searches do not, which often confuses our users. However, in certain cases it is desirable to allow leading and trailing spaces to be taken into account, e.g. when searching for "Robert ", the user may not necessarily want to find all "Robertsons". We need to change the behavior of the regular search logic to ignore leading and trailing spaces while giving users the option to override this behavior. We can do this by adding a new check-box which, if checked, will tell the search logic to preserve leading and trailing spaces.
