#607 Advanced search doesn't support wildcards when using 'is exactly'

I have been unable to find any circumstances under which the wildcards work correctly with the use of "is exactly" for a match. For example, if I do an exact title search for "She", I get lots of hits. But if I do the same search for "S%e", or with any other wildcard in that second position (Sourceforge doesn't like me putting the characters * or _ in there), it finds nothing. Similarly, if I search authors for an exact match for "Chave%", using any of the wildcards to replace the "y" in my name, it insists that there are "No results".
