If you try to use Author Edit to change the canonical name of, say, "Agnes Dodart" to "Agnès Dodart", you will receive the following error: "Error: Canonical name 'Agnès Dodart' already exists, duplicates are not allowed." The problem with accents is that the software uses a standard lookup which doesn't distinguish between "è" and "e", so the software thinks that "Agnès Dodart" is already on file
