How to reproduce: Go to Advanced Search, in ISFDB Author Search Form enter 'a' without quotes as Term 1 (Canonical Name), leave 'Sort Results By' set to Canonical Name, press Submit Query. Click on link [100-199] at the bottom of the page. Edit URL to have the correct web server name. Notice record '18800 A. J. Onia'. Click on link [200-299] at the bottom of the page. Edit URL to have the correct web server name. Notice again '18800 A. J. Onia'. A. J. Onia (http://isfdb.org/cgi-bin/ea.cgi?A. J. Onia) doesn't even seem to be a pseudonymous name, why is it listed twice?
Expected result: author's name listed only one in search results.
Anonymous
This is result of incorrect use of 'limit N, M' in SQL statements in files edit/aa_search.py and edit/pa_search.py; M=record count and should be 100. As it is, pages grow in size and it is easier to see in Publication Search where you do not have to edit URLs.
Patch committed to CVS, fixing overlapping results for author and publication searches.
Moved to the more specific category.
