title.cgi displays 8888-00-00 as “unpublished” for the Year: field but when listing variant titles “(8888)” is displayed. This should be “(unpublished)”.
This, along with the title display noted in the comment, is fixed in the 30-MAY-2009 changes. Added convertTitleYear() and convertPubDate() to common.py and replaced the separate, replicated date formatting code with calls to these. To convertPubDate added handling of 8888-00-00 and 9999-00-00. For the variant display, substituted a call to convertTitleYear() for the use of the raw year from the title record.
