Hi everyone; I want to announce that the first training course on the OSSTMM is completed. The much awaited for OPST based on the OSSTMM 2.5 is available and I will be teaching the first two classes in Barcelona in English. Check out the information on the certifications at http://www.isecom.org/certification.htm. About the OPST Certification: The premise of the training course is to support the necessary skills and knowledge transfer for a person to be considered a capable, resourceful, and self-sufficient security tester. The training course focuses on the technical skills necessary for security testing and the business skills necessary for providing justification, efficiency, and understanding contemporary business and security needs. Although this is mostly what's needed to pass the certification exam, it also includes information on how to be a better security professional. The course provides experiences and knowledge from an experienced security professional as one would get from a mentor. ISECOM does not want to support a training class that exists only to pass an exam. That's not something that brings any value. More information is available at http://www.isecom.org/projects/opst.htm. The Schedule: The first OPST class is available from February 13th - 15th and 20th - 21st to accomodate those who may find it difficult finding 5 days off from work. The second is from March 17th - 21st and accomodates those who plan to fly in for the class. We are also planning a two possible certification dates for those who choose to only take the test and not the training course however that date still needs to be determined. More details on scheduling, travel, and other information is available at http://www.isecom.org/schedule.htm. Training and Certification Locations: Other training partners are signing up. If you really can=B4t travel = and be a part of this big event in Barcelona, please check our training partners page at http://www.isecom.org/partners.htm but the locations are currently limited. Prices are cheap and space is limited. If you want to support ISECOM or the OSSTMM, the certifications and the training courses are good ways to get involved and be be a part of the open source methodology projects. =20 Sincerely, -pete.
