HI, sorry, I didn't follow the whole discussion but ORA-19510 is a file-based database error so it seems to be you have given it a database file instead a disk. Of course I do know that this is not possible in RAC since it only accepts raw disks (and it should not accept /dev/rdsk/c4t4d0s3 as a filename) ...
