#7 100% CPU usage under 2000/xp

I am attempting to use the as_ir200l driver with both IRTuner and
SScontroller/IRListen. Both seem to work and train okay, but
while the programs are polling the serial port, the CPU stays at
100%. This is detrimental to use with showshifter since I need the
cycles to do the encoding or decoding of video.

I have tried
this with an IR200L on Windows 2000/SP3/512M/AMD1900 and
with an IBM thinkpad laptop 800Mhz/128M/XP. The results are the
same.
