While I haven't tried it and hoping for a more "elegant" way, I've heard of
guys using a perl based snmp module to copy the "snippets" to live configs -
also heard of guys running scripts to merge the irrpt output into a config
file itself and merge it all, then use tcl/expect to upload it....
 
Love to hear more or if someone has scripts to share that would be
awesome.... today, we update about 70 peers manually by cutting/pasting the
output from irrpt by hand once a week.... not a huge task but there's gotta
be a much better way...;)

hi list,

i wish to seek some inputs on the subject. 

in a scenario where i have irrpt without knowing the details of BGP records
how best can i tie the two together?

one possibility is to have a BGP database of some sort with atleast:- 

as number
router loopback ip
router manufacturer

fields to be queried just before irrpt config can be generated and merged
with the running configs according to right syntax.

any insights will be much appreciated.
