The ability to change the FOURCC of an output file, as
specified in the profile for that particular device,
would allow more devices to be supported. For example:
the Nokia 770 plays the output codec from Iriverter
perfectly when using the u10/clix format, but it has
the FOURCC=XVID which the 770 errors out on saying "Not
supported video type". When the FOURCC is changed to
DIVX (which the 770 recognizes) using the linux tool
avifix, the 770 plays it without fail. (In fact it
plays the XVID a lot better than the DIVX produced with
other programs)
