VERVE
VERVE (Visual Environment for Remote Virtual Exploration) is a collection of software components for visualizing, monitoring, and commanding robots in remote environments. VERVE is developed by the Intelligent Robotics Group at NASA Ames Research Center and is part of the NASA Ensemble software ecosystem.
VERVE is written in Java and built on top of the Eclipse Rich Client Platform. Some familiarity with Eclipse RCP is required for building, running, and developing VERVE applications.
VERVE is also closely associated with the RAPID (Robot API Delegate) project, and RAPID/DDS is the primary type of telemetry consumed by VERVE. Our RAPID bindings depend on RTI's DDS implementation. Although RTI's DDS implementation is not Open Source, a no-cost version is available for download.
