I have some trouble with my IBM Thinkpad 600E (2645-4BG) and irda.
I use Debian Sarge with a 2.6.8-1-386 Kernel, as I want to use my Siemens ME45 mobile phone with scmxx I am in need of irda.
Google told me that there seem to be a problem in /usr/src/linux/drivers/net/irda/nsc-ircc.c around line 750 in the function nsc_ircc_probe_39x.
As I am not familiar to device driver programming, I can't judge if google is right, or what else could be the problem.
The following console cites should demonstrate my problem. I tried different settings when using dpkg-reconfigure irda-utils.

Any comments? Any suggestions? I would be grateful for every reply.
