It seems that the PCI device is not found. This come directly
from the PCI subsystem, nothing to do with the driver. Could you try a
'lspci -v -n' on both kernel and see if something has changed about
this PCI device ?

The last change to the smsc-ircc2 driver was done in 2.6.8, so
you could try both 2.6.7 and 2.6.8 to see if that change cause the
issue you are seeing. However, I'm fairly certain the driver is not to
