Well, my wx port is just on hold - I hope to resume some development soon... that doesn't necessarily mean there's a problem with ircleech and your router... it might have just been 2 bots that didn't send you the file immediately. i'm behind a D-Link router and it works for me... normally a router shouldn't cause problems for IrcLeech. If you wanna make sure it can still download, order you packages by the "# Downloaded" column, and request like 10 or even 20 of them... if none of those packages start downloading in a few minutes, then there's probably something wrong. But if one or more start downloading, it means you just had some bad bots earlier. Any OSX users want to test out the OSX version of ircleech? How about Linux users (or any platform with a working Mono runtime)? |

I've been playing around with the program today. Sadly, very little to report. I've been unable to get it to start at all in Linux, however, I'm not out of ideas just yet, there are still some things to change, and stuff I can tweak to coax it into working. It's mearly going to take more work than I had originally hoped. Stay tuned. -Ribs. |

Heh, now ;P The archive won't look much different when it is fully ported - all you need is the wxIRCLeech.exe and IrcLeechCore.dll + a few graphic files. But he's right - it needs about a week of work to be up to the level of 1.0. I welcome any help (although have no problem to do it by myself). Any OSX user out there? I have a n early alpha version available. It is written in wx.net, but is still lacking some key features, but is getting there. I could send it to you, if you want. Hey, We're trying to create a roadmap of new releases for IrcLeech and we would like to base this on a proposed featurelist. So if there's anything you'd like to see in IrcLeech, reply to this mail and list the features/changes you want. I can't promise anything, but the most requested features will definitely be added at some point in the future. |

There was a previous email about getting a version of 1.0 for Linux. I may have a working version soon - although slightly different than the Windows version. I have ported over the System.Windows.Forms version to use wxNet. Therefore, the current working version on my computer looks almost exactly like the Windows version, but lacks the Outlook-style toolbar on the left (although I am working on that). I am finishing cleaning up the code and making sure it is functionally complete, but should have a working version in the next week. The good news, is this also runs on OSX natively (and any other platform what has wxWidgets). So soon, the Linux version will be upgraded to the same functionality as 1.0. -Duncan McQueen |

On Wed, 6 Oct 2004 10:02:33 +0200, Joachim von Thadden <j.thadden@t-> Can you go a little bit more in detail? What is needed for that? I mean, > which part of the source code is portable between the two versions and > which is not? If I understand it right, the GUI is different, but the > rest should work in both versions? And why is the GUI different? The ircleech code is basically split up in 2 parts: IrcLeechCore, and the GUI above it. On Windows, the GUI is implemented with System.Windows.Forms (SWF). SWF doesn't work on Linux (allthough the Mono team is working on it) so the Linux version uses GTK# for the GUI. GTK# however does not work properly on Windows so for now it is necessary to have a different front-end for each platform. But both the Linux and Windows version use the same underlying cross-platform code (IrcLeechCore). So the only thing that would be needed is for someone to develop the GUI in GTK# or to update the existing GTK# GUI. |
