Well - on OSX you can't have text in the toolbar in wxWidgets....see the text in the toolbar in my screenshot? Hack hack hack - but works. Umm...I dynamically load the image file and draw the text on the image and then added it to the toolbar. When the text changes, there is a brief flash in the toolbar since theimage is regenerated.
