    Can you post some more information about your server setup,
    it sounds very much like you do not have apache running with
    mysql support.

    Can you create the file test.php containing the following
    line and post the output you see in your browser:

    <?php phpinfo(); ?>

    have you compiled your apache server with mysql ?

    for me it seems apache doenst know any mysql commands..
    recheck this
